Promoting Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a high-attendance Sunday that members bring their families to, and a difficult day for some of the people in the room. The promotion does two things: it gives families the service times and a reason to come together, and it says, in every piece, that the service is for everyone. The schedule is the standard six weeks because the family invitations happen a month out.

The whole church: 10 pieces over 6 weeks. Dated for Sunday, May 9, 2027, the next occurrence after the day this page was built.

Level: the whole church

Whole church. The attendance is set by invitations, the children's ministry is at its fullest, and the service plan depends on the numbers. Ten pieces, with the wording reviewed once for the whole run so that every piece makes the same promise about the day.

The schedule

Ten pieces, dated

For Mother's Day on Sunday, May 9. Publish is the day a piece goes out. Due is the day it has to exist, which is the publish date less the channel's lead time: 2 days for Newsletter, 1 day for Social, 1 day for Sunday Announcements, 3 days for Website, 7 days for Print.

Move the event and every unfinished piece keeps its weekday and its lead time. A piece in the event's own week that would land after the event is moved to the week before; the day-of post counts from the date itself.

What each piece carries

The information by channel

What the 10 pieces above have to say for Mother's Day, channel by channel.

Newsletter

The first mention gives the date and the service times and says the service is for everyone, including those for whom the day is hard. The second mention adds the children's program, any photo station or gift, and the invitation ask. The last call is the times and the arrival advice for the fullest service.

Social

Save the date is the date and the times, with the sentence about the day being for everyone on the image. The reminder post the Friday before is the times and the children's program. The day-of post goes out in the morning with the times.

Sunday Announcements

Announce it two Sundays before with the invitation ask and the cards at the doors. The final announcement the Sunday before is the times and the parking plan.

Website

The page: times, address, parking, the children's program, whatever the church does on the day (a gift, a photo station, a brunch), and the same sentence about the day being for everyone. Published four weeks out.

Print

An invitation card members take for their families, with the times. Due a week before it goes out, which is three weeks before the day.

How it is built

How Promo Engine produces this schedule

Three inputs: the event's date, the level, and the church's framework. The framework is the one above until a church edits it.

The framework is set once

Channels with a default weekday and a lead time, levels with a rule for each piece: which channel, how many weeks out, which day. A church edits the defaults to match how it publishes, and every schedule after that follows the edited rules.

A campaign is a date and a level

Enter the event, pick the level, and the pieces are written with a publish date and a due date each. Each piece is assigned to a person, who sees it on their own list and in their own calendar, with the brief and the copy attached.

Regenerating keeps the work

Change the date or the framework and the unfinished pieces move to the new dates. Finished pieces, assignments, notes and the copy already written stay where they are. Nothing is published or sent by the software; a person presses every button.
