Promoting a year-end giving Sunday

A giving Sunday is promoted around a purpose and a number: what the offering funds, what the target is, and the ways to give, including the ones that work after the Sunday itself. The pieces repeat the purpose in the same words each time, because an offering explained three different ways reads as three different offerings. The schedule is six weeks because members plan year-end giving in November.

The whole church: 10 pieces over 6 weeks. Dated for Sunday, December 13, 2026, the next occurrence after the day this page was built.

Level: the whole church

Whole church. Every member is asked, the target is set by the whole congregation's giving, and the finance team needs the result by year end. Ten pieces, with the website page holding the ways to give and the deadline for gifts to count in the year.

The schedule

Ten pieces, dated

For Year-end giving Sunday on Sunday, December 13. Publish is the day a piece goes out. Due is the day it has to exist, which is the publish date less the channel's lead time: 2 days for Newsletter, 1 day for Social, 1 day for Sunday Announcements, 3 days for Website, 7 days for Print.

Move the event and every unfinished piece keeps its weekday and its lead time. A piece in the event's own week that would land after the event is moved to the week before; the day-of post counts from the date itself.

What each piece carries

The information by channel

What the 10 pieces above have to say for Year-end giving Sunday, channel by channel.

Newsletter

The first mention is the purpose in one paragraph, the target and the date. The second mention is the ways to give, with the year-end deadline for each (online, by post, stock, the Sunday itself). The last call is the target, the amount given so far if the church reports it, and the ways to give.

Social

Save the date is the purpose and the date. The reminder post the Friday before is the ways to give with the online link. The day-of post is the purpose again, with the link, posted after the service.

Sunday Announcements

Announce it two Sundays before with the purpose and the target. The final announcement on the day is the purpose, the ways to give, and the deadline for gifts to count in the year.

Website

One page: the purpose, the target, the breakdown of what the money does, every way to give with its year-end deadline, and the church's giving statement policy. Published four weeks out and updated with the running total if the church reports one.

Print

A giving card in the seat backs with the purpose and the online address, and the purpose on the lobby screens. Due a week before.

How it is built

How Promo Engine produces this schedule

Three inputs: the event's date, the level, and the church's framework. The framework is the one above until a church edits it.

The framework is set once

Channels with a default weekday and a lead time, levels with a rule for each piece: which channel, how many weeks out, which day. A church edits the defaults to match how it publishes, and every schedule after that follows the edited rules.

A campaign is a date and a level

Enter the event, pick the level, and the pieces are written with a publish date and a due date each. Each piece is assigned to a person, who sees it on their own list and in their own calendar, with the brief and the copy attached.

Regenerating keeps the work

Change the date or the framework and the unfinished pieces move to the new dates. Finished pieces, assignments, notes and the copy already written stay where they are. Nothing is published or sent by the software; a person presses every button.
